exchange, credit, or refund.

Return Policy Overview

We want the African art paintings you purchase from us to always exceed your expectations. Since 2009, we’ve shipped thousands of paintings worldwide, and fewer than 1% have been returned. For this 1% remaining, this policy is for you. Our return process is designed to be straightforward and customer‑focused.
Return Requirements:

  • Contact us before returning any painting.

  • Returned artwork must be in the same aesthetic condition as received.

  • If damaged in transit, please send photos of the artwork’s damage. If the packaging is damaged, that does not mean the art itself is damaged too. Check it before drawing to conclusions.

  • Shipping fees are non‑refundable per Shopify’s Terms and Conditions. Complimentary shipping is one‑way.

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method after we receive the artwork; processing may take up to five days.

Consignment Artwork:

  • Consignment pieces are shipped directly from the artist in Africa with complimentary worldwide shipping.

  • Delivery typically takes 1–2 weeks, after the art is made.

  • Because artists are paid only after you confirm satisfaction, consignment returns must be made within 5 days.

Prints:

  • Prints ordered through AfricanArtPaintings.com include a 30‑day money‑back guarantee via Fine Art America/Pixels, the company that prints your art.

  • Prints ordered on TrueAfricanArt.com (Abdul Badi and any Maps) are not returnable.
